The Nānākuli High and Intermediate School Performing Arts Center will be accepting new students for the 2015-2016 school year. Any student from grades 4 to 12 from any public school (including charter schools) is eligible to join this award-winning program. No experience is necessary, as most of the members had no prior performance experience.
Students will learn skills in dance, vocals, and acting through the process of putting on a production. This year the NPAC will produce four major productions including “Disney’s Lion King Jr” for students in grades 4 to 9, “25 Years of NPAC” a musical revue celebrating NPAC’s 25th year, “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” and a dramatic and musical revue show at the Kroc Center.
NPAC offers several levels to meet students’ ability to attend rehearsals. From one day a week to five days a week.
Classes are every weekday from 4 to 6 pm and will also include some evenings and Saturdays. There is no cost to join the program.
Interested students and their parents are encouraged to attend the NPAC Orientation meeting on August 6 at 6:00 pm at the Nānākuli High and Intermediate Multi-Purpose Café. There will be a mini performance, handouts given out, and a question and answer period with students and staff.
The first day of class begins on August 11, Tuesday. Last day for new students to join for semester one season is August 25.
