YMCA College Camp is looking for students with a 2.0 GPA to apply for a chance to have a week long college experience at UH Manoa June 1-June 8, 2019. You will be able to stay at the residences halls, eat in the college cafeteria, and speak with college admissions counselors to get your foot in the door early. Get an application from Mrs Tapeni at the Sophomore Academy Office, deadlines for applications are April 19, 2019

Juniors of native Hawaiian ancestry: Applications are out for the Laupa'e 3-day summer program at UH Manoa which is from June 12 to June 15.. Live in the dorms, explore majors, and participate in cultural activities. Application deadline is April 5 and applications are in the CCC.

Pick up Freshmen and Sophomores Banquet forms in Ms. Davis, Ms. Jones, and Ms. Jury's classrooms (P5, I102, FS-105). Forms are due by March 8th and ticket sales will be March 6-8 after school in Shop 2.
For all classes- Both Freshman/Sophomore Banquet and Prom Appeal forms are out. If you have exceeded the number of unexcused absences and tardies to attend the banquet or prom, you must submit an appeal. Appeal forms are available in the front office, your academy offices and have been sent to you through your email accounts. Banquet and Prom Appeals will be accepted starting Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8 only. If you have any questions or concerns, please see the admin responsible for your grade level.

Attention Class of 2019, it's time to choose your graduation song! Please send in your song suggestions via the google form that has been sent to your email. The songs you suggest should be about your high school experience, friendships, looking to the future, or anything that you believe to be appropriate for the graduation ceremony. Senior advisors will go through the song options and take out any that don't comply with school or graduation expectations. NOMINATIONS WILL CLOSE FRIDAY MARCH 8th! The 5 songs with the most nominations will be voted on at a later date.
March 1st is Wai`anae Strong First Friday. At 7:15 am music will be playing near the front office. At 7:45 am the track team will be leading Cotton Eye Joe dance. Join us and show your Waianae school spirit by wearing your Waianae Wear Swag and participating in the dance.

Attention Seniors: Graduation is just 3 months away! In order to participate in the graduation ceremony, you must attend the Senior Notice Meeting on Thursday, February 28th from 6-7pm on the home bleachers. This meeting will outline specific requirements for participation including behavior compliance, song practice, graduation practice and more. You must be accompanied by a legal guardian (not a sibling or another family member) who will also sign the senior notice. See you there!
