Athletic Training Room
Hours of Operation

During the school year: Monday - Friday : 2:30pm-7:00pm

Saturdays, School Breaks and Holidays: Hours may vary based on athletic activities (practices/games) schedule
Location
The Athletic Training Room is located by the Football field behind the bleachers across the Weight Room.
Athletic Training Room Rules

You must sign-in for treatment Treatment includes: Ice, Heat pack, First-Aid, Taping and Rehabilitation

Injury Reporting must be done at the time of injury or 30 minutes before practice

Taping:Report 30 minutes before practice

You must have Athletic Trainer's permission to tape
-
No Loitering in the Athletic Training Room

If you don't need anything, you should not be in there

Concussion Management Info
Hawaii Concussion Law (Act 262)
Hawaii Concussion Law (Act 262) is directed toward the 11-18 year old population. The law mandates if a concussion is suspected, that individual must be removed from play immediately and evaluated by a medical professional trained in sport concussion management. That individual cannot return to play until a written medical clearance is obtained.
Return to Play Protocol
EACH STEP IS SEPARATED BY A MINIMUM OF AT LEAST 24 HOURS. IF SYMPTOMS PERSIST DURING A STEP, YOU MAY NOT CONTINUE TO THE NEXT STEP UNTIL SYMPTOM FREE

Complete cognitive rest. This may include staying home from school or limiting school hours and study for several days which would be determined by a physician and Athletic Trainer, and supported by school administration.

Return to school full-time.

Light exercise. Walking or riding a stationary bike.

Running in the gym or on the field.
-
Non-Contact training drills in full equipment. Weight training can begin.

Full contact practice or training.
-
Play in game.
Steps 3-7: will be supervised by the high school Athletic Trainer and is subject to clearance by the treating physician. These steps CANNOT begin until cleared by the treating physician for further activity.
