Searider Parents,
Per Governor Green, all Oʻahu, Kauaʻi and Maui County public schools, offices closed on Friday, March 13. Following Gov. Josh Green’s announcement on Thursday, March 12, regarding severe weather conditions impacting the state, and in alignment with his directive, the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education will implement the closure of HIDOE schools and offices on Oʻahu, Kauaʻi and in Maui County on Friday, March 13, due to current storm conditions.
Applicability:
This closure applies to Oʻahu, Kauaʻi and Maui County HIDOE schools. It also applies to state, district and complex area offices physically located on Oʻahu, Kauaʻi, Maui, Molokai and Lāna‘i.
This direction applies only to the conditions associated with the current severe weather event and does not establish a standing practice for future closures.
Oʻahu and Maui County HIDOE employees shall not report to worksites tomorrow unless specifically notified by their supervisor.
Students and families:
There will be no in-person instruction for Oʻahu, Kauaʻi and Maui County schools on Friday, March 13.
